First Drag Race between Camaro and Challenger?

Looks like the Challenger got the hole shot and still lost. But what is up with those 1/4 times? High elevation maybe?

Ehh stock ls-1 could beat both of those cars! Not impressed at all, I wonder what slicks would do for them... Good looking vehicles just need some mods.. 4400 pounds wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea that was funny.

I have a feeling that these kinds of runs will be the norm this summer with heat. Good speed from the SS.

That was Englishtown....very near sea level, and typically produces very good ETs.

would really like to see the photo finish on that, the challenger had a killer light compared to the Camaro and still lost, interested in seeing how close they were at the stripe

...Christianjax, where u at in J-ville, saw my first camaro on the road down here this morning around 7 headed south on 295, looked like he came from San Jose, Yellow, guessing a 2LT by the looks of the massive wheels, no RS package...lost him in 9A traffic...beautiful machine...congrats if its yours , or anyone else's on the forum for that matter

I'm interested to see what GMHTP can do with it. I certainly hope that they can best the 13.11@107.4 of the stock 4th gen LS1. Heck, according to my 1/8 times, I had that covered(the 13.8) when my LT1 was just intake and exhaust. I know speed is not everything, but for the high thirties.....

BTW, it is no where near summer yet.

I don't have a Camaro yet. Still driving my 99 Trans Am. I live in the southside area. Haven't seen one on the road yet.

those were magazine cars and i made runs with both of them that day. that particular run was with the guys from 0-60 magazine driving. i'm one of the track managers at e-town and was able to make a pass in both cars. the air was **** that day, but i was able to pull a 13.23 @108 out of the camaro. the camaro was a press car with a beat clutch in it, and was slipping bad on launch. i'm very confident on a 50 degree day that 12.7's are possible with a new ss
