I like mine as well. They look great on older Camaros, but not on a modern automobile.

Yeah, I couldn't imagine them on anything newer. The weather stripping looks fine on the car as is.

Im just hoping that black on the 1/4 windo disapears so you can see through them. I know this is rough so Im hoping they fix that.

I doubt it. Isn't that "black" a structural member?

Take a look at most newer cars and I think you'll find the ditch moldings on most of them and they will probably be black.
My Impalas' is body color (white). Come to think of it, I can't think of any GM cars w/ this molding that is anything but body color.

Edit: I've found at least 1 G6 that has that piece in black, so maybe it's a trim thing?

If you are, I think most cars have that nowadays.
We refer to that area as the "ditch" and the black molding as a "ditch molding".
That's where the door ring and the roof panel mate. There's a big seam there, so the manufacturers use that seam to keep water off of the side windows. It eliminates the gutters that cars used to use.
They then put the molding in there to give extra sealing and to hide the seam.

The moulding is referred to as the roof moulding. There are cars out there with body colored roof mldgs. Some even has it from the tip of the cowl running all the way to the tip of the trunk. One car coming to mind is the Lexus GS which is body colored. I believe the Challenger is body colored as well. Most are black, as it it cheaper and doesn't require paint.

Youre refering to the B Pillar? A B pillar doesnt have three sides as the 1/4 window black triangle border does. Maybe its just the pic.

The rear view mirror seems to be integrated into the windshield. Thats pretty cool. And those tires look pretty wide. I hope that girlle makes production.

Thumbs up Thanks For Sharing!

Wow great picture! The more I see of the 2010 Camaro the more excited I get. I want to say thanks to GM, Scott Settlemire and the rest of the Camaro team for letting us, the Camaro fans, have a window into the awesome process of bring the next gen Camaro to life, it's just amazing to see the 5th gen evolve before our eyes.

I find it funny when people whine about certain things on the pre production test Camaro in the photo, it's good to give feedback, but some times it seems people don't seem to understand the meaning of pre production, early test version, not final, test car, etc.

In our assembly plant, we refer to it as the ditch molding.

After my original post, I would say that maybe 50% of newer cars have them. And I probably never noticed body colored ditch moldings because they are body colored, and therefore don't stick out like the black ones.

I seriously hope they make it body color then!
