Was it mentioned if it will be a styling package for any of the cars or an add-on for the SS only?

They're gonna take some flak over that one.

It may not be reasonable flak due to the fact that you can buy an add on GPS system for a lot less, and OnStar might be the cat's meow... but it's coming fer sure...

One issue that may come up is the fact that the add-on GPS systems are getting less and less expensive, and don't really need a subscription.

The day is coming (maybe already here...) that the price of the subscription service over 36 months will be greater than the price of a complete add on GPS system.

This from "CamaroScotty" a dealer who posts on Camaro5:

OK, not much new learned here with the IDL...It was slightly painful, listening to sales staff who really knew nothing abuot the car - all old news to us on the forums!

Lessons learned:

- It is a 2010

- BUMBLEBEE PACK coming - details sooner to release

- 21st Century Sports car going up against Us and imports

- POLICE PACKAGE in the works

- Best of the old & new

- head up & backup assist coming 12/09

- exhaust tones - More impressive than a vette IMO!

- NO PRICING, will be announced later this year

- Ordering info December 2008, with first rounds going in Jan 2009

- Fixed mirrors, not breakaway

- Dual stripe factory installed on White & cyber gray...AND available as a dealer installed accessory

- 80-100,000 cars per year

- competition & sport modes on the SS for launch control

- ambient lighting a part of the leather interior package

- RS gets you halo's and HID's, spoiler & darkend taillamps 20" wheels even on V6

- 1LT has remote start AS AN OPTION...not available on man trans cars

Production to officially start 2/16/2009

They say it the 21 century sports car....where are all the 21 century options?

On-star is the joke of the century.

I consider the HUD delay "bad medicine". I want the car right away but waiting another ~6 months for it gives me that much longer to prepare financially as well as helping on the price of the car, which will be a little less affected by the "gotta have it" factor by then.

What is this fascination with Nav, go to mapquest. It's amazing how people can't find anything unless a computer on the dash tells them how to get there.

Mapquest just isn't as convenient, though I'm sure you already know that. Bottom line: I like it and I want it in my next car.
