dealerships NOT selling the car with mark up.
The dealer my friend was dealing with was over an hour away, so everything was done by phone and fax. He thought that having the dealer take his deposit and give him a recipe was enough to take legal action when they broke their agreement. He was wrong because it was not signed by both parties.
Now, would legal action have been successful....or worth the cost....?
I don't know. But it could bend a situation back in your favor.

Not true according to my friends lawyer.... If there is a written agreement between two parties that is signed by both parties legal action can be taken if one of them breaks the contract.

Murray Chev Olds in Winnipeg Manitoba. Mind you I'm sure GM Canada will rape us enough on it anyways over U.S. pricing.
My friend bought a 2002 Z28 from Murray for $4000 BELOW MSRP and it was a factory order. ($32,000 instead of $36,000)

That's good Info you gave........ I have never heard of a person recanting and not taking the vehicle off the lot after signing!
I have put 2,000 miles on a brand new 3 miles vehicle and made the dealership take it back for it was not financed with the agreed company.
I wanted the purchase on the vehicle and the mother Fer wrote me up for a lease... I was late for work and took the lease with the intention of buying it at the end.
I put 2000 miles on it and had to force feed the vehicle back to them. The ****ers! They wouldn't even take my calls to take the vehicle back and reissue my deposit. I was giving them the short end of the stick by breaking the vehicle in that way and shoving it right back up their ***!

When I purchase my Trans Am, the dealership put $3000 of custom rims and tires on it........ they upcharge and I don't even have the original stock tires.

That would be in $CDN, I'm sure... but back in 2002, CDN$32,000 would have been equivalent to about US$500!

In reality, the Canadian dollar bottomed out in Jan/'02 at a value just under 62 cents U.S. Today, they are virtually identical in value.
