Could the Camaro SSbe short lived?
First of all READ THE FULL ARTICAL on the website! Second, as far as Eric backing you up, Here are some horsepower numbers for the mustangs he pointed out. The 82 mustang 5.0 had 157 HP. The 87 LX he mentioned has a whole 225 HP and a 93 mustang cobra had the most since the early 70's with 235 HP. Camaros from that time period were no better with the L98 maxing out at 240 HP.I wouldn't call these muscle car numbers. I would have put my old 69 camaro SS up against any of them and would have kicked there butts.
Depending on which '69 Camaro SS you had, I'd say most or all of those cars would have kicked it's butt.

The gov is way more controlling than they were in the 70's. I hate to say it but the this is the end of the performance car era. We wont see 500 HP Camaros and Mustangs and 600+ HP Vettes and Vipers much longer. The Enviro nut jobs are in control and they hate cars.
I had a 375 HP 396 SS with a 4 speed. I now have a 95 Firebird Formula with a 6 speed . If I had the same size tires on both cars I think the 69 would beat the 95 in a close race. So I think it would have beaten all them cars pretty easy
The scary part would be if you decided to turn your steering wheel or apply your brakes.
