Competition: 09 Challenger & 09 Mustang
Funny thing, for some time now I have been showing all three (stang, maro, chall) to my econ classes at the school I work at. It is a nine week class so I am on the 4th batch of the year.
Many of the kids picked the stang because they know stangs and like them.
The vast majority of my kids liked the challenger. Most said if they could pick from the three (money no object) they would take it.
Hardly any of my kids want the 'maro. Kids into cars commented (without prompts from me) on how bored they were with seeing the concept for so long and the Transformers aspect and with out realizing it they were pointing out that this has taken too long to happen (the release of the 'maro).
I presented the info unbiased just for grins in class...take it for what you will.
The demographics for the school I work at is middle class to rich for the most part, predom population white. Parking lot is full of nice cars.

I'm willing to bet that once it IS out, and everyone starts raving about it's performance, quality, economy, etc...their preference of the three will change.
It has been in the public eye for a while, now...but soon - just a few more months, and they'll be out on the streets.

Huh? That does not even make sense. The camaro has not really been in media that the general public consumes. Most people are not on these type of boards. Gm is not putting posters and commercials on all over the place. You are talking 1 movie. How the heck can you get sick of a concept from 1 movie that most people love? They picked the mustang which has not only been out longer then the camaro concept but is on every street in America?? How is the camaro anywhere near as exposed? If you had said they hated the prepro headlights or the rear end it would be a diffrent story. To tell the truth I bought the mustang because I hated the pics of the rear. But it seems the latest pics are much more flattering. Real complaints are one thing but over exposure???

But yeah, these "I showed it to so and so impartial observer and they mirrored exactly what I think" stories are pretty much useless (and par for the course) on the internet. Take that how you will.
.....you know that decision is going to lead to you looking at the rear of quite a few camaros, right

It was in the movie, toys are out of it, it has been in tons of magazines, many of the kids have seen the concept at last years auto show and the State Fair of Texas, plus it is all over the internet. I also stated it was kids into cars who were saying the overexposed comments. These kids know GT-R's, Cobra's, and Challengers, why would they not know the Camaro? They all are really into the ZR1 and the GT-R.
Bitch, complain, call it biased...I really don't care.
I was just pointing out how things were turning out in class.
The Challenger is about to hit the streets. Many of my students saw the black one in the Dallas auto show. It is getting the attention right now so I would personally put that up as the reason it gets the most attention right now. One of these kids dad has an orange one on order that is supposed to be showing up soon.
To the kids the stang is old now, but today I threw up some of the 2009/2010 concepts during some down time and they really liked it more than the Challenger.
And it response to the "But yeah, these "I showed it to so and so impartial observer and they mirrored exactly what I think" stories are pretty much useless (and par for the course) on the internet. Take that how you will" comment, are you saying I am biased? Are you say I am lying. Personally I was leaning towards a new Z28 myself and my job is to be impartial so I sorta take slight offense at your attitude.
