Challenger Marketing, How will Camaro React
The list I saw for top 5 American on the top marketing sports people. These were not my choices they were done by Dollar Value.
1 Tiger Woods
2 Lebron James
3 Tom Brady
4 Peyton Manning
5 Dale Jr
Either way GM only needs to target the Mustang as the Challenger is not going to make a big dent in the market since it was concieved as low volume.
We also may want to target the new RWD Hyundia. It will be in the same price range and at this point I would not underestimate them. There is a ex Buick guy that is really helping them in the U.S. market.
If they use Dale Jr or not he is a resource they already have they could exploit as well as many others. GM should not have to rely on people with no real connection to GM.
Besides the car they are going to give to us will really sell it's self as long as they advertise it enough to get the word out.
I know better than to expect a advertising program as big as the Malibu but they can do better than they have in the past.
It would be good to even do some combined advertising like in the old days with the Malibu, Camaro, Cobalt, Impala and Vette. I think it would help drive the impact of the good press the Malibu is is getting to cross over to the other lines.
...speaking of vehicle marketing...anybody watch Knight Rider tonight?
Wow...in a 4 minute span I noticed the GT500 KR (KITT) being chased by a Ford Edge (which was keeping up with it on a mountain road), passing a Focus, Fusion, Mazda CX-9, and a Volvo S4. A Ford Explorer and Escape also made an appearance.
(Also, the GT500 KR turned into a white GT and a purple V6.)

From what I read Ford paid a lot of money to be there so they are getting their money's worth.

that is hilarious! I knew the KR's closest competition was the Ford Edge! Someone in Ford marketing needs to be smacked... Show me KITT chasing down a Ferrari or a Bugatii. NOONE wants to see a companies flagship chased down by a crossover from its own line up...
)Well, in all fairness...KITT did go 600+ miles in just a hair over 3 hours

Gotta tell ya, the show stunk...real bad...but the scenes with KITT were kinda cool. (And, the Hoff made an appearance!)
