I don't believe that,Ford would be making a HUGE mistake to carry over the same engine. The current GT will handle the Challenger R/T in a comparo,but if the Camaro is putting out 350+HP,and we've just got carryover engines,just from a marketing or image POV,this would be a blackeye on the Mustang much like in '94 when all we had was a 215HP GT to counter the 275HP F-body. The Challengers' 375HP,while a much bigger car and just as quick as the 300HP GT,will also dent the Stang reputation in the general publics eyes.
Not to mention the Genesis with its 300HP V6 for the same or less money as the GT. Ford has no choice. If no 5.0L for '10,then the 4.6 will have to have a huge bump in power just to save face. Ford is in the position to upstage GM this fall with a new Mustang,i hope they follow through and give it the proper power to match the Camaro.
