Like kids at Christmas.

I have to admit, though, that I'm excited to see the car.

Exclamation Like Pancakes..................

Boys and Girls,

As much as I hate the thought of it, these vehicles are going to sell quick to the likes outside the realm of enthusiast like ourselves. I shiver at the thought of this for there will likely be a price gouge, not to mention out-of-stock.

So many people here in Southern California are showing interest to this vehicle, especially the Yellow/black stripes. It's going to be tough in deciding when to buy for the proper price before inventory slips.

Inventory slips? That's a good one

There will BE NO inventory on this car for what, at least 4 to 6 months? Price gouging WILL occur. Just refuse to buy from a dealer who does, and place an ORDER for your car as soon as you wish (please, WITHOUT paying over MSRP) and you should have it in a few months... hopefully

My plan all along has been to order it from the factory! I've taken good care of my Camaro that I currently own so that I could save up for a 98-02 SS (used of course). Since then the new Camaro was proposed, approved, and is now (obviously) in testing. I just say all of that to show that this will be my first brand new car and I want to order exactly how I want it. I'm more than ok with waiting...as long as I know it's going to be to my specification. And, I'm definitely not paying above MSRP

Thumbs down All Over the Place!

Man! That's not even the half of it... say that they will take orders, in that 6 months you will see those Camaros all over the place while you wait. I don't know about you, but it sure be ashame to see as many of them or even more than those Mustangs all over the place.

Years ago upon released, the Bug and PT Cruisers and the Magnum made me twitch how regularly I see them on the road. Theses days you see the Charger or those 300 along with the Magnums.

At any rate, I'm estatic to see another 4th gen Fbody on the road these days.

Wink Driving Off

I here you! I own 2 4th Gen Trans Am with one of them only at 11,000 miles. I'm looking to sell one and go for the new Camaro. I'm currently running my silver one with a leak rack and pinion. As with all things, they break upon wear and tear.

Hitting that MSRP price sounds good... but the question lies at, what is the exact MSRP?

There is nothing better than the feeling of owning a new vehicle where you are the first driver/owner!!!!!

Being the second owner of my Silver TA Daily Driver, the previous owner didn't take very good care of the vehicle and ended up with a Lemon. When I took apart the intake a couple months ago, I even found out that the dude had one of those Tornado Fan Blade inserted in there! What an idiot.

Best Regards in driving off in a Camaro!

Matt

+1.

My thoughts exactly!....(well, sorta)
I look at it from this point of view:
There are three possible outcomes when the Camaro starts selling.

1: There'll be so many on the roads it'll make people puke (not me, though )

2: There'll be so few on the raods, that it musta hev either sucked, priced too high, or nobody likes it. (All of which are looking less, and less likely at this point in time)

3: There's just enough on the roads...but it sure would be nice to see more and know that GM's making a killing on these cars.

Honestly, although I'd like to be unique...I'm praying for outcome 1.
It's one of those give-and-take situations.
It means that this is a car virtually everyone can afford, it's got a crapload of appeal - and it won't be going anywhere soon, with the sales it's pumping out. That's what I pray for.

Thumbs up Cross Them

Man of course you want #1 hahahaha Some where inside of you, I know you want uniqueness! Hearing from owners of past Gen..... Trans Am owners don't like it when others call their vehicle a Camaro or a Firebird V6 ......

We might feel a little nervous about the vehicle release, though many others sleep like babies at night who will be spontaneous buyers. The Mini Cooper is an example of a vehicle that people have bought based on a Fresh Trend..... I honestly don't like those Stripe Coopers either!

Cross your fingers man!

The exact MSRP price is what is posted on the factory sticker in the window, so really easy to find that out. Of course it will vary depending on how that particular car is equipped.

Unhappy No Set Prices Yet!

Dude, that's not what I meant. What I'm saying is that you don't know what the starting MSRP will be for the vehicle. There are no price set yet for the Based or the Top model. Top model at $40k as mentioned in a different thread, is pretty steep.

For what you'll be getting that is not steep at all. And the "top model" won't even be available until 2010.

Unhappy It Depends.................

I ran surveying thread a few weeks back.......many mentioned that $40k is steep. I guess steep is also in the eyes of the beholder and how much they are willing pay for their interest. Also depends on whether you have the cash flow given many in the East coast will likely hibernate this vehicle in the Winter time.

Exactly.

There's plenty of people with cash in hand paying over 40K for a SRT8 Challenger and it's still all but impossible to find a GT500 for under 60K, let alone anywhere near it's low 40K list price. When you get to that type of altitude, you're catering to fans of the car with extra disposible money who wants a special model that has rareity.

The top Camaro will no doubt be in the MSRP range of the GT500 and SRT8. You aren't going to get a Camaro with a blower or a hand-made industrial strength race engine for just 30 grand. For that price, one should get very familiar with the LS3.
