Camaro for Oz? Where do I sign?

Camaro for Oz? Where do I sign?
A quote from a respected Australian performance car magazine, Motor...
So where do I sign?
If this baby is coming down under I will want one... I will ensure my middle age crisis arrives early... err, around that time.
..."And being based off the VE architecture, Camaro could easily be built in RHD meaning it could be sold in Australia. Denny Mooney is dead keen to bring Camaro to Australia and suggested it would undercut Monaro pricing at $50K. That looks like excellent value for the stunning LS2 powered four seat coupe.
...Mooney said that if Camaros did come downunder, it would only wear a Chevrolet badge."

Whether its Camaro or Monaro, I don't think many of us fans care... we're all GM fans to the core.
Suddenly I'm putting a VE purchase on hold.

It would be smart to distance Camaro a little. It would let the car stand on its own without having to worry about trying to be a different car...

Monaro can be had for around $53K AUD driveaway... if you haggle! If Camaro lobs at that price it will be a relative bargain... and there is a huge fan base here for American metal, don't worry about that - especiall for that Chev badge!
PS Camaro was never available for sale here in Oz although Mustang was. You will find some imports... but that applies everywhere around the globe.

Would be great just to boost the international Camaro scene. Plus I like Australians, you guys are kindred spirits to us Yanks...if its Holden-based it only makes sense. Would improve the business case as well even if its only 5000 units/yr extra.

The Monaro SV6 did pretty badly, so I would expect Chevrolet to take the same route Ford did when they exported Mustangs down there a few years back in exporting the Cobra: export just the top level car.
That would probally mean you'd end up with a top level, no options Camaro SS, likely to be in the $35 to $38,000 range. Just a shade under what Monaros cost.
Two really big questions:
1. Will the interior quality be as good as the Euro level Monaros were?
2. And even more important: Will the construction of a US car hold up as well as Aussie built cars over extended use.
Seems cars built down there emphasize holding up to abuse, while cars here are made for lightweight and the lowest possible cost to make.
