Re: Camaro hybrid??? Would you buy one?

I know the Camaro is a sports coupe and thus not your typical hybrid platform. My point was to look forward to 2008, 09 and beyond. If you would've said 5 years ago Lexus would have a 330hp hybrid on sale today I doubt many people would have bet on that. To me the future of gas prices and petro sales will keep rising and so will the prices. Just like Toyota and Honda have embraced the hybrid GM and other makes will need to as well. I can see a day when alternative fuel or hybrid vehicles will power all but the trucks and sports cars. Today people buy hybrids for fuel savings, vehicle second. My question was should GM up the game and make a step into the hybrid action with a car that people will actually want first hybrid option second.

while it seems to be working for Lexus, having two systems that can fail and have to be maintained isnt a top priority for me. The minor gas savings IF any, none in Lexus case, are not worth the extra cost of the vehicle.

Well, I guess that's reasonable...
+$2000 for a 13's and $2000 more for a 12's car...However, comparing that to other cars that run those times close to 12's, an additional $2000 is a bargain.
