my story is like so many others. i have been a camaro fan since a was a little boy. my stepfather bought his 84 z28 when i was in middle school (about age 14). my first ride in that 84 third gen camaro and i was hooked. i promised myself when i reached age 25, i would buy my camaro. i bought a southern 1989 camaro RS 305 this may for 2200, for a very clean third gen camaro, i couldnt have spent my money any better. i was deeply upset when chevrolet discontinued one of the world most affordable sports cars in 2002. especially when the 02's kick so much a**. no new camaros i was very angry with GM. it seemed all they cared about was selling econocrap and large guzzler poor handling SUVS. they got rid of anything that wasnt FWD or a truck including the caprice. GM left themselves with 2 full segments that they no longer had products to compete with anymore. they surrendered to the ford mustang and the crown VIC. the corvette does not fill the same segment as the camaro, a corvette is for the rich. this is why i dont really consider myself a vette fan. nice car BUT is not for the working class, and a camaro is more practical. i saw a third gen the other day, with a dresser sticking out the hatch, lol. with a fold down seat and a trunk, it is much more practical. you can actually have kids in carseats(cramped, but it still works) which i will have carseats in my camaro when i have kids. im keeping my automotive love of my life no matter what. anyways my wife finishes school in 3 years, and guess what she wants a new camaro. i want to have a new camaro parked NEXT TO my third gen in our driveway. that will be a great day for me and my wife. i would like to thank GM first of all for build my 89, 18 years latter and 150K miles later it still rocks. i would also like to thank GM for waking up and putting one of the greatest nameplates in history back in to production. the camaro is ONLY new car that me and my wife would ever consider purchasing. camaro is something special, always has been and always will be, it has a very special place in my heart
