Camaro Concept to Leaked Shot Animated Fade
Camaro Concept to Leaked Shot Animated Fade
OK I made this little animated gif to sort of show the diffs in the body between the concept and the production mule spyshots.
While i realize that the angle scale isnt 100% perfect, if you stare at specific areas of the car you can get a decent look at the change.
Kinda big (and dirty) at 2mb but here it is.

Looks like the *** end loses a little girth...
If anyone can get me a better angled shot of the concept i'll redo this and spend a bit more time on the fade.

The major thing I notice different is that the body above the rear wheel is much taller on the white spy picture than on the concept. But it's like that with every new car.
Why are cars these days so goddamn tall in that area?? Is it trunk-space?

Cool job on the fade!
I know there's really no way to tell, but it appears the wheelbase grew a hair.

Great job! I think this definitely illustrates how similar the production version really is to the concept. Viewing that well lit and reflective red paint and then keeping trained on those detail areas when it fades into the white production car shows that it's a very close match. The dimensions look much closer than are immediately apparent looking at the two separately.
Nice job. I will point one thing out, although Pig did a great job of lining up the angles, keep in mind the red concept was a professional shot most likely taken from a photographer's ladder while the spy shot was taken quickly from someone standing by the car. As such, you're bound to get the impression that some features seem longer, shorter, etc. however that may not be the case.
Remember several GM folks have said you can only tell the differences when they are standing next to one another.

Ya, strangley enough that was the closest angle i could find after about 30 mins of searching. I'd love to redo this without the backgrounds and have a slower, better transition but i need a better shot. Any one got any pointers to where i can find one?
Thanks
