Camaro concept closer to Z28/SS or base?

Just wondering what everyone thinks about this. I've been wondering if the concept we've all seen is what we can pretty much expect from the exterior of the higher end model (Z28/SS), which is what I expect... or if this concept is more what we can expect to see from the base model with the V8 version being a little meaner looking (maybe for starters with a grille we all like a little better?)?

If this is close to the Z28/SS, what do you think they'd tone down for the base model, if anything?

I can see them dropping the front bumper scoop and the spoiler for the base model. I hope the cowl is on all of them.

Dont know what you mean by a grille WE like better but, I think the concept is closer to the high end. I cant imagine that Z06 scoop being on base model. Probably smaller tires with hubcaps. The shark gills may not be functional brake coolers on lower models though I hope so. So that would mean smooth rear 1/4s rather than having the openings. I do hope that cowl makes it on all cars though.

Purely guesses, but I would like to have a car that looks very close to that. To ruin that grille would be a tragedy.

I would hope that it's closer to the base model...It just looks to bland to me I'd like to see a Z28 look more like this:

That big front lip makes all the difference

But that scoop ruins the cowl

I agree. That's the nicest 'version' of the Camaro I've seen.

I hope the 'affordable' V8 (ie- not top model) can be had looking like that.

I hope they come out with a GFX package for the new Camaro quicker than they did for the 4th Gens. A GFX package makes a car so much more agressive looking to me. (Not that the 5th Gen lacks agressive looks, but GFX will only make nice even nicer.) The 4th Gens NEEDED GFX to look agressive imo, I honestly didn't like them without it nearly as much as with. That small detail makes a world of difference in appearance.

Gotta disagree with the GFX comment on the 4th gens. I thought the Camaro GFX looked cheesy, like it was a JC Whitney add on or something.

I agree, it looked nothing like the GFX on the third gens, which actually looked like it belong there.

How do the 3rd Gen GFX look any better than the 4th Gens?

The 4th Gens looked great with the GFX imo. Without them there wasn't much 'agressiveness' to the 4th Gens. The 4th Gen Firebird was FAR more agressive looking without GFX than the Camaro was. Especially '98+.

Without the GFX the 4th Gens looked a little bland to me. Just a squished oval with headlights...

As much as I loved the integrated spoiler on the 4th Gen Camaro, you couldn't even tell it was there from the sideview. The added height given by the GFX package was a nice visual touch. Though to this day I think the integrated spoiler was a very unique touch I'd love to see again.

The front GFX on the '96 or '97 (I forget when it came out as the RS) was great looking, but the first time I saw it I knew it would be pretty rare to not see one all busted up. When they reworked the front in '98 and kept the front GFX split so as not to have a low point in the front it may not have been quite as attractive (not that it wasn't attractive) as the previous GFX, but it was a smart move to avoid driving around with a scraped up front lip.

The 3rd gen was, to me, the only generation where they looked right at all.
