I took it to mean it will be a 2008MY car. Typically the press speaks of cars in terms of model year, not release date unless they specifically state so. I guess we'll have to wait until Thursday to be certain. If the article is correct what are the 2 V-8 options? It makes me think 250ish HP V-6, 425 HP V8, & 500+ HP V8 will be released all at once!?!?! It doesn't make much sense to me to have a base 350HP V8 and 425HP V8, then later release yet another V8, the GT-500 competitor.

The gas conscious need to think V-6......but with DoD, and the expected gain in mpg, it shouldn't matter. It won't to me. I still drive my '68 every weekend and it's getting 20mpg with the 5-speed and 4:10 rear.....my only problem is going to be which one to drive......maybe by then, this will also be E85 capable and more stations will be around.

Well give yourself some time to think about it. I was getting tired of waiting and almost bought a GTO. I can say now that I'm very happy I didn't buy the goat last month.

While I'd still like to have a truck (owning a house and all it would be very convenient) I'm kinda glad I didn't now. Once they make the announcement and let us know EXACTLY when it'll be out I'll make a final decision of whether to get the Dakota or wait for the Camaro.

Why do we always get our hopes up for the announcement? Why do you play with our hearts GM? Someone going please get a video of his speech so that if they do announce it I can still see it "live". I would go, but am kind of on the other side of the world.
