Back seat pics....

Noticed in another thread someone was asking about interior room, front seats are fine, figured i'd go check out the back seats.

I went down to the dealer and took some pics sitting in the back seat.....i dont care about back seats really, but you'd think at 3800lbs and after all this time they'd have a bit more room back there, its a lot worse than a 3rd/4th gen.

This is with the drivers seat ALLLLLL the way forward

This is with the passenger seat in a normal relaxed position...

I'm 6' and my head was pinned to the roof....i realize its not supposed to be roomy, but again 3800lbs and its unusable, i can get in the back of a 4th gen and while its really not a great place to be i at least have SOMEWHERE to put my legs and my head doesn't touch at all.

Is this car less roomy than a 3rd/4th? When I sat in one I did feel a little closed in from the dash and the room from the door panel to the center console.

I couldn't understand either why such a huge car felt so small inside. This is something I won't hold against it though because it's not really a car meant to transport family. I'd be curious to know how the actual interior measurements compare to my current cars because they're smaller, but feel much bigger inside in terms of hip room, leg room, head room, etc.

My wife of 5'7" was able to comfortably fit in the rear seat, with me sitting comfortably sitting in the front seat. I'm 6'1" btw.

Yeah, the backseat is small, but I can't think of ANY car except a ford crown vic that can comfortably seat 4 adult men.

That second pic looks more like a "passenger seat as far back as it would go" pic

Being 5'9 and 210b I fit behind a 6'0, 280 lb friend and i had plenty of leg room. The only problem was the car had a sunroof and my head was up against the headliner. That picture looks like an extreme case purposely done just to try and make a point about the weight, which some how figures in to the internal dimensions of the car.

GTO....it takes a while to get back there cause of the slow power seat, but once your back there its amazing how much room there is, so basically the previous car weighing less has more room

I sat in it...was comfortable as i said, and a woman sat in it after right after me before i got in the back and took the pics.

Again not trying to sabotage anything here, i want this car to sell well so they'll be a 6th gen around for me to buy.

Keep in mind, that first pic is with the front seat as far forward as it would go, and i still felt like i was in a 4th gen...the drivers chest would be in the steering wheel at that point. The passenger seat...was in a COMFORTABLE position, not all the way back on purpose, could you move it up a bit and still be ok up there? most likely, but the fact that it goes all the way back and basically touches the rear seat shows theres not much room.

I don't think anyone is expecting it to be sedan rear seating in a coupe but I think once you get past 5'-8" or so, things get cramped but up until then, I had no problem.

I wonder how much the front seats weigh. They look awesome but I bet they are responsible for 50 additional pounds compared to the previous car.

Although big on the outside, I think all the safety features of the car take away alot of potential space.

For example on my NO safety feature skyline, the doors (including the inside cloth) width is about 2 or 3 inches. On my trailblazer its 7 inches.

The new camaro has a whole list of safety goodies which could be why its quite small in the back.
