A. Where ya been? There's LOTS of pictures of exactly what the Camaro is going to look like (minus the headlights)
B. Ford DID screw up the Mustang. While I do think the current mustang is by FAR the best looking model since 1969, it is nowhere near as cool as the concept was. They really screwed up the front end. But those before and after pics you posted really shows how CHEAP Fords look. Those cheap a$$ black plastic mirrors lack ANY kind of style. They look like someone said "hey we need mirrors on this thing, go down to the parts store and grab a pair." In fact, Ford really needs to consider making the new for 2010 Mustang look EXACTLY like that concept in order to keep from getting it's butt handed to it by the new Camaro. Wait! what am I saying? Keep it the way it is.

i've seen the pictures of the pre-production but i'm still worried about a few things...its very close....but the tailights concern me and the bump in the back...but the camaro pre-production is a lot better than the mustanc production
as for the mirrors, they are much closer to the concept than what can be said about the current camaro preprod's. And the preprod mirrors dont look any better. for them being black, i think its OK, it looks fine, blends in with the windows more so it doesnt disrupt the body lines. If it was attached lower to the door, than body colored would look better, otherwise, its OK. IMO.
Pretty simple
Step 1: Design production car (detroit)
Step 2: Design concept car based on production car, in a different studio by different people (california) - check
Step 3: Show Concept First
Step 4: Show Production year after

Same Thing Will Happen
The same thing will happen to the Camaro!!!! Everyone's sister and grandma will be driving a 4 or 6 cylinder that will MSRP under $25 - $27k just for the look.
The rest of you will be back against the wall as local dealership does markups, along with the Premium setup for the 8 Cylinders, the vehicle will be out of reach and not worth while. Chevy manu. can give you a bang for your bucks but the vehicle will not be reachable once delivered. Other than that, making the sales to last the production duration from the 4 and the 6 is more important to Chevy than your interest of 8 owners. If the 4 and 6 sells, production of the 8 is not a whopping necessity.
It all boils down to the $ money money!!!!! Revenue Revenue!!

The one good thing about Mustangs are the available parts for the on-going manufacturing. Don't mind a Mustang, but just the thought of so many people driving them of different Gen makes me a loser of having ownership for whatever the reason.. Must be vehicle Pschological effect.
And to think, a V6 is practically $23,000 thousand average is not very thrilling either! $26,000 thousand is max on it.
I don't shop Ford, but I'm assuming that their dealership will not be jacking up MSRP unlike the Camaros within a year. Already I can tell you that Stang price will be stable compared to Camaros for some time to come.

The Camaro now id better than we could even hope for. Making a show car production is a very hard a challanging task. The crew at Gm should be commneded for what they have done.
We could and should never expect it to be 100% as you have to use some common sense. GM now is doing this on many cars just as the new CTS coupe in 2010 will show.
God bless everyone's sister and grandma driving a 4 or 6 cylinder . They are the ones who will make it possible to buy the V8 you crave as with out good V6 sales you would never get a chance at having this car. So more power to them.
As production catches up with demand the prices will be fair. It took the Stang 6-8 months and anyone who wanted to be first on the block had to pay for the honnor.
I would like to credit Mr Wagoner and Lutz for letting the styling teams do their job and let them turn their dream car into our dream cars.
Show car that turned production SSR, Solstice, Sky, Camaro, CTS Coupe with more to follow. Good stuff.

The concept Camaro did look better, i remember when the pictures came out in 04'. But the production is still sexy... The new headlights might look better, who knows, but i for one would like it if they left the headlights like in the pics from the link above.
