2010 IROC Camaro?
2010 IROC Camaro?
I don't know about any of you, but I can't wait to see this car out there racing on the speedways! I think it would be absolutly awesome, being a very big third gen Camaro fan, to see them make a 2010 IROC Camaro, and also actually use them now for the International Race Of Champions series! I think it would be a great thing for GM to consider to help out their future!
I think if "Rampant" took the picture he has of the Saleen Camaro he did and combine it with the "#6" Camaro from Sema, that would be pretty much how I would picture an IROC Camaro.
Let me know what all of you think, and maybe if there is enough positive response, you never know....that's how thing now a days work!

I think the IROC name really lives and belongs with the 3rd generation cars. Regardless of what the racing series was or currently is, an "IROC Camaro" has a very pointed stereotype associated with it. I see Irocs for something else--I'd actually would like to buy and restore one. But the general public probably wouldn't receive a new "Iroc Camaro" with open arms. There's already a spin on the Camaro stereotype in the media with the recent introduction of the 5th gen cars.
Allowed to pass, but unable. The cars were so equal and had small carbs and a got huge aero-push that the racing sucked. The last two years the field would end in almost the same position they started in.
In 2007, IROC could not find a sponsor and postponed the first two races at Daytona and Texas. IROC went on hiatus for 2007 hoping to return with sponsor in 2008. In March 2008, IROC auctioned off its tools, equipment, cars, and memorabilia, and went out of business
IROC was a good idea but not set up the way it should have. It was NASCAR style cars and on their tracks.
I think a better idea is to use production based cars and have road courses and super speedways. The SEMA Camaro GS would be a great choice to use if IROC is ever to come back.

yeah, I guess hearing all of these posts, they all bring up very good points! Still want to get my hands on a nice third gen IROC some day, as well as the new Camaro!!! New Camaro as of right now will probably come first though!
