What stereotype are you guys refering too?
The one that had made the Camaro the best handling sports car not only in its class, but matching or beating the C4?
The stereotype where the first time since 1970 Z28 where Camaro had any linage to a racing series?
Or is the the stereotype that made Camaro from a 2 ton leaf spring tank into a world class performance car?
Which one were you guys talking about?

As for Camaro in racing, GM showed a Camaro GS at SEMA, displaying what the Camaro would look like for the Koni Racing Grand Sport series in which they will be going fender to fender with the Mustang GT race cars.

most of the every day average car buyer , do not see the stereotype for the IROC that most fanatics would see it for. most people see the Iroc and 3rd gen camaro as a white trash mullet mobile. i dont agree with it. i like the car. but thats the way the public out side the camaro community view the car as.

Yup, that is what alot of people refer to those cars as. One Explain would be Joe Dirt. I hate that sterotype so much. I really think that the third gen Camaros have a timeless look to them. If there weren't so many of them out there that are basically trash because they are not taken care, the sterotype might not come to be as harsh.

I have seen some really clean third gens and those cars are amzing.

What stereotype are you talking about with the 5th Gen. Camaro?

While Ive never saw the whole movie, I sure as hell dont remember a third gen in the movie.
I know he had a hemi powerd car, and then Kid Rock had a Bandit car.

Any car can be a "redneck car". I know my father wasnt a trailer trash red neck when he picked his brand new Z28 in 87. And I know my grandfather wasnt a red neck when he picked up his 72 Camaro in Antwerp.
And Im sure as hell not a red neck after I drop 35k for a brand new 5th gen Camaro.

Ive seen rusted versions of every car. Stop perpetuating the myth, and it will go away.

my grandpa had a 74 trans am and he wasnt red neck. but the stereotype wasnt made until after they were out. they get this stereotype because they are very cheap used and alot of the cheap ones get bought by white trash rednecks and the cars look liek crap. not knocking any red necks. but they buy the cars because their cheap, and an american classic and people see that alot of these type pf people have them and it gives the car a bad name. there are alot of guys out there who arent this stereotype that have these generations of cars. but the public eye sees these trashy people driving these very cheap cars in very horrible condition and they are very quick to mock and make fun of every generation of the car and its drivers.
