Sunroof
#16
Most coupes cant do sunroofs that slide into the roof due to the curvature of the roof, the size of the roof and the size of the sunroof. I like the look of a sunroof popped up and back but to each his own. I think it looks really good in that pic. Though if/when I get the 5th gen it will likely be sans-sunroof but I do like the look.

Leakage
I am assuming that the sunroof is the same design as on other new chevy
vehicles. The roof seal surface has a lip all the way around it with a small
tube running down through the pillar directing water to the ground. This way if the seal does leak, the water never makes it into the interior.

They should have given us 3 options:
Coupe
Convertible
and
t-Tops
I think t-tops would be a nice option to have on a modern car, i know i loved them on my 92 Camaro... and the convertible is way outta price range for me, and I am undecided on the sunroof, so more than likely to prevent outside noise i'll get the coupe on the 1LT model with the RS package.

This design looks like the one on my 99GTP.Last summer i asked if a sunroof was going to be optional ,thus it looks promising. As for t-tops,i had them on a 79Z but not on the 94Z and frankly after having the sunroof on the GTP,i don,t want t-tops anymore.Btw,if you don,t want to spend $1,000 for the sunroof option just buy the vehicle used and let someone else get the depreciation lol

The sunroof looks like garbage. I think it is more geared toward the perspective female buyers. After all 4th gen V6s were the most produced. WhenI seen it at the Chi town auto show I almost threw up. Although it would be large, a targa would have been sick.

I dont see a problem with the sunroof. Yes I would like to see it go into the roof, rather than over it. Then again, you dont see it when you are driving. T-tops would look terrible, and a vert is expensive. I think if someone was wanting an open air option that the sunroof is a good choice.

TTops, though I accept that they won't happen, would look awesome. Given the B-Pillar that we've got here, it would be a look similar to a Grand National or late 70s Eldorado with TTops.
One trick would be storing them - the 4th gen cars have the best T-Top storage system known to mankind. I don't see where they could put such a rack in the 2010, so they'd have to go back to bags & straps. And then there's the question of whether they would fit through the smallish trunk lid opening.

I think I'm gonna go with the sunroof when I get mine. At first I thought that it was pointless, but with me being a 6'1" guy whenI sat in the Camaro at my dealership it actually felt less claustraphobic inside. Don't get me wrong the car inside was comfortable like no other but for me being a guy that drives a full sized truck, the opened sunroof added just that little extra element of space that I really could use.
