Interior Ambient

What do you think about having a system of Ambient lighting similar to the new mini cooper to highlight certain parts of the interior ala: door trim, center console finish or IP. I think it would be neat in a way to have this option , as based on what exterior color you chose could be highlighted on the interior and make you're car more personal. Would be cool at carshows and cruises also.

One thing I wish my 4th gen had that my 85 had was floor lights... Needs floor lighting when the dimmer switch is turned to the click... Or when a door is opened. Maybe a trunk light too, like where the 3rd gens had it. Near the trunk latch.

I could rig up some neons, but I'd get shot for that in most crowds.

I think it is a great idea. The Saturn Aura has it and I love it.

That might be nice. If GM did it, it would prevent a lot of owners for OVER doing it with neons .

I think ambient interior lighting would be really cool...My friend has a 335i and it has red lights in the interior down the sides of the doors. It looks really good but I think it should be an option.

VW/Audi also have red ambient LED lighting from the overhead console. It is directed down towards the center console. You really can't see it until you put something in its path...i.e. your hand will have an eerie red glow if your hand is on the shifter. It also makes notes readable in the dark w/o turning on dome lights.

I always thought about changing out the ugly little 194 bulbs in the doors to a red LED on the Camaro, and maybe adding 2 to the rear view mirror since there's power up there already.

That could be interesting.

Though I'd want it to be silver in normal daylight/lighting when not lit up.

And make the color something you can choose rather than a set color.
