Easy to swap HALO's onto SS?

One of the things that stuck out to me with the concept was that "ring" for headlights. I thought they'd never come out with that in the production. They are, but not for the V8! This may be a dumb question, but will it be easy to just buy RS headlights from the dealer and install them on the SS? I don't think the SS will have the RS package because it already has everything else like foglights, big wheels, etc.

The RS or Rally Sport option that includes among other things "halo" headlights is available on both the LS/LT (V6) and the SS V8 Camaro's. So getting the halo headlights is as easy as checking off the RS option when getting your SS.

I think what he is asking is if he can buy them separate and install them himself. I have the same idea since I dont want to pay all the extra for the RS package just for the HID's.

Oh sweet, I thought I heard somewhere that the RS wasn't available for SS. What else does the RS package come with besides headlights that the SS doesn't already have?

Halos, different spoiler, bigger wheels, darker red tail lamp lenses are a few. Poke around the sticky at the top of this forum for the specifics

Yeah but the SS already contains everything from the RS package except for the HID's as standard equipment, so I would imagine the RS package for the SS would only be somewhere in the neighborhood of $500 - $800, not worth it to try and put them in afterwards!

Yeah, that's what I thought. What about the taillights, is there are side by side comparison somewhere that shows the differences between standard SS and RS ones?

the pictures were taken in a different light and at a different angle but you can clearly see the red RS has a darker rim.

Plus if you order the RS/SS you get red "SS" emblems.

Ahh, so the RS taillights are more like the concept? I like those. Seems like the RS package is a "concept package."

Imho, it is not really worth getting the RS package for the SS unless it is ridiculously cheap (like $100-200), which I pretty sure it will NOT be. The differences are the headlights, taillights, and roof trim. The headlights and taillights will be all over ebay or have aftermarket options not soon after launch, and honestly, the black roof trim looks nice on most of the colors. SS/RS not worth the extra money.

HID with projectors may be worth it, especially over those stock headlights. $100-200 is stupid low. good HID's are worth much MUCH more than that, especially when you try to compare it to the HID conversion crap available on ebay.
