big surprise...
an old guy trying to recapture his youth.

go buy another 69.

baby boomers suck!

They're going to ruin this country not only by bleeding social security dry;
But first They're going to use their buying power to drive up the demand for retro cars with ugly paint. LOL

Well gee, aren't you just a fine example of upcoming generations! FYI, I'll buy any damn thing I please, just as you will. I wouldn't want to recapture my youth, I'm quite content with who I am and what I am. I have always enjoyed high performance cars and likely always will, even when I'm so old that I inadvertantly run you off the road because I couldn't see you. LOL.

Wow....that was just a little uncalled for. I think somebody has some issues.

You might want to think about lightening up and taking your animosity off the board and to a therapist.

I am impressed that you didn't just attack one person, but an entire generation....way to apply yourself.

Taking his animosity to a therapist? What did the therapist do wrong?

Besides, there are a lot of old guys that do try to buy back their youths. Look at the prices some of the old muscle cars are demanding. That isn't a coincidence. The 5th gen concept is already pretty retro. I personally hope there is a line drawn on all of this retroness. I myself could care very little about the 1st gens.

Jesus Christ on a crutch...

It was a joke with a little bit of economical/political bite.
I'm sorry if my pointing out a stereo type about "old guys" offends you.
(I wonder why it would? )

And just so you know, it is a big problem this county will face when all the baby boomer's get old and sick in the next 10, 15, 20 years.
They will be a very heavy burden for my generation to support. I'm not attacking them, just pointing out a fact.
I personally use this as motivation to better myself so that I will not have to rely on the government for help, or burden my kids when I'm old.

But for now they are a very big portion of the consumer market with a lot of buying power. They are in their money making prime.
Companies would be retarded to not target / cater / exploit their likes; hence retro cars.

[\rant]

Anyway... I want to see what color blue the Camaro will come in. I hope not a dark navy. My second choice would be white. again, no stripes.

LOL!!!! That's the funniest thing I've read all day!

I'm 22, and I found that baby boomer/recapture youth post offensive too. I want to have a really cool, modern, updated early 4th gen in a few years, so I'm trying to recapture my youth as well as my car's youth.

The only thing I can say is I don't want dull colors like those that came on the '67-'69 Camaros either. As far as '60s Muscle Cars go, I've always liked the colors the Hemicuda/Baracuda and Challenger came in. Some nice vibrant colors, but metallic would be ideal for the new 5th gen.

I wouldn't say I'm against all and any retro colors though, I love the '69 Lemans Blue GMMG used on a few ZL1 Camaros.

You do realize that the "burden" of us supporting them isn't their fault right?

Sorry... I cant tell if your being sarcastic or not, but if you are your cool

I didn't place blame on anyone. Again just pointing out facts.
There are a bunch of historical events that led to this problem.
All I can do guard myself from the aftermath by being 100% self sufficient.

1. Questionable sense of humor.

2. Keep wondering....last I checked 40 wasn't considered a baby boomer. And I know it's a cliché, but "old" is a state of mind. My wife (who's closer to your age than mine ) tells me I'm 40 going on 17 all the time. Don't worry though, you'll be a 40 year "old man" yourself in no time. I know my last 13 years went pretty damn quick!

Of all the things I said; all you did was defend your age......

I was expecting a little more of a rebut than that.

Not too sure what you were expecting a rebuttal on. I'll let our posts speak for themselves. I'm done with this until the subject turns back to cars.

ya... back to cars.

anyone have any input on my color suggestions?? Im mean really... whats wrong with them?
IMO you need to have the popular colors of TODAY so that the car will appeal to the masses, then toss in a few radical colors to build an image / identity for the car. Digging up a paint code for 40 year old car will not do that,
even if the cars do share the name "Camaro".

The 4th Gens came in some pretty dull colors also. At least the last few years did. It had the dullest blue and that hideous sand color that should ONLY be available on trucks and suv's.

Colors I'd like to see in the lineup would be-

Sebring Silver (from the 4th Gen)
Arctic White (from the 4th Gen)
Black (obviously)
Candy Apple Red (like the Mustangs current Dark Candy Apple Red)
The Blue from the 1991/1992 3rd Gen.
The Dark Green from the 1991/1992 3rd Gen.
The Dark Purple from the 1991/1992 3rd Gen.
Charcoal Gray
Orange (I only like the orange from Dodge/Mitsubishi)

Basically I found the color palette from 1991/1992 the best of all years. Just add some candy apple, orange, silver and gray.

Loved the silver on the 4th gens. Other than that...I'd like to see an Imperial Blue. Or a 'Slate like off the '08 Cobalt.
