Battery Ground Removal. Vats activated
Hello, I have a 94 camaro, that i just bought. its in great shape. Its my daughters first car. Im a bit of a motorhead, so Ive been doing alot of preventative maintanance on it for her. All new pulleys on the motor, new belt, new water pump, new plugs, wires, pcv, alternator, and fluids. the Ses light was on, so as with most cars,I removed the ground cable from the battery to try to reset the pcm, ses light, and it activated the Vats.Obviously the car wont start now. I have two resistor chip keys for the car, but all the bells and lights continue to flash. is there anything I can do so I can drive this car again without going to shoeboxs site to bypass the vats with a resistor (no disrespect shoebox, you are well respected here, I am no good at electrical work) ?Is there a way to reset the vats? I have tried starting w key on for ten min, no luck, unlocking door w key, no luck. I would really appreciate the help. Thanks

Re: Battery Ground Removal. Vats activated
Gentlemen, I did it!!! I have a running camaro again. I simple cleaned the ignition switch w a flattened out q-tip soaked in alcohol, turned the key to the on position for about five minutes, the vats light went out, and it started right up. Lesson learned, dont ever disconnect the battery cable for any reason if you dont need to.
