The "good"
Lighter assembly than stock (front), adjustable ride height, corner weighting, easy to change rates, and easy to remove springs.

The "bad"
Springs dont always stay put if you jack up the car, money that may not need to be spent.

So, what would your reason be to get them?

mainly room.........as well as looks. currently have eibach springs and bilstein struts. however the extra room of a tubular k and coil-overs would make for a real nice exhaust setup as well as clean up the underside greatly.

the car sees roughly 5,000 street miles a year so durability is a must as well as practicality. maybe 3 trips to the straight track and 2 or 3 to the road course.

with all honesty once they are set they wouldn't be adjusted all to much. again, it's more for room than anything with weight being second and the overall "wow" factor lastly.

well you could always buy the PA RACING tubular k member with the spring pearches. That way you can have the k member yet still keep your stock set up.

ahh that would be nice since i'm running 275's up front.

what about reliability though................that's my main concern and the whole reason not even thinking about CM.

i just wish i knew i could bolt the tubular setup with coilovers and have the same ride as i do now but with more room and i won't have issues with breaking something.

I've heard people that use 17x11 rims with the corvette GS offset (50 mm i believe?) with 315's mounted on them all around with no major problems (I believe a 1/4 inch spacer up front to clear the calipers?) with basically a stock style suspension...

A few members have stated that they use 315mm tires up front for autocrossing. I bolted up my second set of 50mm offset 17x11 AFS ZR1 wheels a couple of days ago, after grinding off the bump on the spindle where the top of the wheel comes closes to the spindle. Even with no spacer, it fit, but with too little clearance. This was just for grins, as I was working on other areas of the car. I did not drive it that way. A spacer of 1/8" to 1/4" should do it. I have been told that there is a metal edge directly above the tire behind the plastic fenderwell that needs to be bent away to prevent cutting the tire.

people tell me that the coilovers put alot of stress on the caster camber plates? if this is true why do they include plates that help to distribute the weight.

please check out the picture in this thread.

it sounds to me like it's a 1,000+ dollar gamble.....
