simple turbo manifold idea

instead of building a totally new exhaust manifold, could you just re-route the exhaust from the stock manifold? what would be the downfalls to this. I am working on making a turbo set up as easy as possible shoot me some ideas on this

Downfalls
1. Room for the tube going foward. Remember your steering shaft is right there (drivers side) The passenger side you are going to have to get it around your assecories if you have not already thought about that.

2. Its small. Stock manifolds are gonna hold the motor back if you are going to really want to push the motor hard.

Will it work?
Sure no reason it wouldnt if you could get the exhaust to the turbo. Optimum NO. I wouldn't plan to use more than a t-66 doing something like this personally. You might think about mounting the manifolds on opposit sides if they will fit like that.

I have seen this done before, once with some stock, old style rams horns. I looked at it, but the difficulty for me was adapting the outlet flange on the maniflod to the turbo inlet. There was also a hood clearance issue (the one I saw was in an old truck, they flipped them upside down.)
