Thumbs up GTO's understated design will fair well to aftermarket hoods and etc!!

While I agree that the GTO is far from a head turner, its sleeper looks will be a good platform for after market stuff.

I would imagine that Suncoast creations will come out with a couple killer hoods and Wings West and other will make some cool looking for spoilers for those who desire them.

At least the GTO's styling is more timeless then most Pontiacs and will not look dated in 5-10 year like most overstyled cars.

Im not even taking into consideration all the abundant LS1 engine mods out the for the Camaro and Vette that will surely migrate over to the GTO.

You bring up an excellent prospect. A clean simple design with a high performance engine with good aftermarket products could turn GTO into an aftermarket favorite to owners much like Mustangs are now.

I think I disagree.

With only a max 20,000 units being produced, I doubt there would even be much of an aftermarket for this car, unless they are products that can be cross-sold in Australia for Monaro...

I doubt aftermarket manufacturers would even have much of a chance to break even on their investments.

I was just looking at the pictures of both Monaro & GTO's sketch. The only pieces that seem to be GTO unique are the bumper covers (at least from the front) so I don't see why add-ons from HSV wouldn't be a relatively easy addition.

My thoughts exactly...

Is there a big Monaro aftermarket? And woudl those existing aftermarket products meet any U.S. standard for sale in the U.S.?
