20 & 21" wheels weight?
I am trying to find out how much the stock 20" wheels weigh and also if anyone knows how much the 21" GMPP wheels weigh? i am wanting to do a bigger wheels size but only if they are going to be lighter than the stock wheels. so i need to find out how much the stock wheels weigh and how much more the 21" wheels weigh. i was talking to a few wheel manufacturers like forgeline and HRE. forgeline doesnt make 21" but HRE does and they said a 21" wheel weight about 24lbs a piece. i am wanting to do 21 in front and 22" in the back like the concept. the 22" HRE weighed in at 28lbs apc. forgeline also said they were 28lbs. so i basically need to see how much the stock 20 is and the 21" to see what set and size i go with. any help is good . thanks

Doubtful if any of that information is known at this point. I'd like to know myself.

Just noticed, the GMPP prices are now online, and they mention that that wheels are "flow forged". I would assume that this means they are lighter compared to cast, but does anyone know what that means exactly when it comes to wheels?

"flow forged"? i have heard of that but maybe its the kind of the same as injection molded but its metal instead of plastic. they probably have a die that they pour the aluminum into. thats my guess. im wondering if the 21" were made differently than the 20", if they might be lighter or as light , if they used a different process.

That 245/40/21 tire weight looks a little off to me... 39.32 Should that just be a 32?

I like the HREs a lot and the weight savings is nice but is it really worth the 6-10k?

hell yes they are! i was going to do 22 in the rear and 21 up front. but after seeing these numbers, if i do 21" all the way around, i will have dropped 44lbs from the stock 20" and 48lbs from the stock 21". thats amazing weight reduction for the wheels and tires alone. less mass to move means more hp and quicker times. im sold on HRE.
