I just found timeslips from March of 2006, the first time I was ever at the track. It was Orlando Speed World, not really known for being the best track, but that still doesn't explain how poorly I did.

First of all I must have been half asleep. Second I really pun my tires bad. Even still I managed a decent MPH given the terrible ET's.

Tell me these aren't some weird slips, especially the second. Besides it being my first time, I also had a problem with my engine bouncing off the rev limiter and not shifting until I backed off.

I also didn't lose any PSI on the rear tires, ran at 33 or so. Didn't know any better.

So what are some average 60' times? RT is factored into ET right? That would make me feel a little bit better. I don't know what I was smoking that night to slow down my RT like that, damn lol. I blame it on it being my first time.

Yet even with all my problems the MPH isn't bad.

Last summer I ran it at Raceway park in NJ (an impeccably better track) and with a bit more practice and did 108-something MPH. I have to look for those now

Oh, also, what would be a good number to enter for weight of our cars? I'm using a HP from MPH calculator and using 3600, but I think 3700 is more realistic. Anyone?

 

They don't look weird to me. First time I took the SS out was the summer of 1996 (ordered it in Jan.) and I was running up against my brother-in-law's 1990 bolt-on Cougar XR7. Needless to say he destroyed me. Can't remember what the exact numbers were, but I know he ran a low 15 to my mid 15 and he treed the **** out of me. Very embarassing since the SS was a novelty back then...

 

Well using a calculator they ET and MPH don't match up at all. Means I had no traction I suppose.

Your HP computed from your vehicle ET is 173.96 rear wheel HP and 193.29 flywheel HP.
Your HP computed from your vehicle MPH is 226.15 rear wheel HP and 251.28 flywheel HP.

Your HP computed from your vehicle ET is 160.41 rear wheel HP and 178.24 flywheel HP.
Your HP computed from your vehicle MPH is 249.74 rear wheel HP and 277.49 flywheel HP.

 

With street tires, you should be looking for 2.0-sec 60-ft times, or lower.

Reaction time is NOT "factored into" ET. The ET clock does not start until you break the beams. A 14-second car will run 14-seconds with a .000 reaction time, or a 2-minute reaction time.

 

Try 3420 or so + driver weight

My fully loaded z28 w/ skinnies, no sway bar, and no spare/jack weighed in at 3370 w/o driver back in the day. I figure that's about 50lbs off from stock.

 

timeslips look fine, you just spun a lot off the line. improve your 60's and you'll be in the low 14's and possibly break into the 13's.
