So that's where Mellon is! Looks like several of the people I know from 3Si.org are there.

The Mustang with the Navigator engine is pretty unique.

Actually the Nav motor is very near identical to the Cobra engine as they even have the same cams. This is a very common swap done for 2v to 4v as it is usually cheaper.

I thought the Navigator had a 5.4 with either 2 or 3 valves depending on year?

Sorry re-read post. The heads are the same but as you mentioned the block is a 5.4 on the nav. The newer Navigators are now the 3v. People use the heads for performance applications all the time.
