2001 Camaro V6 275/35/18 or 275/40/18 ?

I've got a 2001 Camaro V6, all stock. I bought new rims and now I'm wondering what kind of tires to get. 275/35/18 or 275/40/18 ? Would I need to lower it with 275/35/18s because there will be a big gap between the tire and wheel well or no? Would 275's in the front rub? Wheel offset is +50mm, 9.5 width. If anyone has any pics of these, please post. Thanks in advance.

What tire size came stock on your car? I think the V6's came with 215/60-16, unless you opted for the 235/55-16 upgrade. Both those tires are about 26.16" diameter. The closer you stay to that diameter, the less chance anything will rub, and the less difference there will be in the fender gap.

The 275/35-18 will be a little over 1/2" smaller in diameter than stock, increasing the tire-fender gap by 1/4". The 275/40-18 will be about 1/2" taller than stock, reducing the tire-fender gap by 1/4". There will be a slightly greater chance of the 275/40's rubbing in the front, than the 275/35's. You have the correct offset for the 9.5" wide wheels, but pushed very slightly toward the outside.

Really a toss-up on which way to go.
