xe 224/236 s/c cam on a 114lsa
I have recently purchased this cam from thunderracing and i would like to know of all the people who have ran this cam. How are the idel qualitys. I heard being thats its a xe cam that it wouldnt be as radical as if it were a regular hydraulic cam?. Also im planning on running self aligning 1.6 rollor rockers with this cam and only plan on spinning the motor to 6200rpms, will I run into problems. Oh i am running double coil springs with this setup also.

When you mine is..you trying to say that your on the stock converter as well?. Another thing are you guys using slef aligning rockers or non?. I was told not to use the self aligning but have friends that are using self aligning and its fine and i dont plan on spinning that high, only 6200rpm's.

my PCM was programmed by Ed Wright for stock heads, hot cam, headers... etc. and i told Ed at that time to set the idle at 900 rpm. i just changed the PE Vs RPM table for the CC XE 224/236 112 lsa cam. i got the PE Vs RPM table from an LT1 file from Mikey 97 M6 Z28. i still have the stock converter. and i set the rev limiter at 6500 rpm but i see the RPMs in the tacometer closer to 6800 rpm on WOT. i also have CC pro magnum non-self aligning 1.6 roller rockers i use guide plates with them. things are pretty good since i did this setup about 3 years ago.

Hey does anyone else have any info on this same cam CC XE 224/236 on a 114 LSA?
I have a friend that is running 6# of boost (powerdyne), Mac Headers, off road pipe and currently has the the Lingenfelter blower cam 215/220 114 LSA with 510/540 lift. He does have forged pistons and stock heads.
He is looking to upgrade to a bigger cam for more power and that more agressive sound too?
He is looking for a gain of 20-25HP or more.
Will this CC XE 224/236 do the job? or is there a better one for his set up without going Tooo Wild like the cc306 cam?
His 97Z car has a M6 with 3.42 gears.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated!

When recommending the XE 224/236 to others I have advised a 114lsa 'cause I know it works. It has worked great in all cases that I am aware of but for my own use, I am going with a 116lsa. I guess I am more careful with other people's money than my own!
However, this may a pretty big cam for six pounds of boost, depending on the static CR. What is his CR? What fuel does he run?

Thanks for replying Rich...
His compression is ~10.4:1 and he runs 93 octane his car. He does plan on getting the car tuned after the cam swap and use the superfuler with (3) 42 injectors and some 24# Svo injectors on the fuel rail.

I used 30's SVO and 34.8 siemens and I maxed out at 4.5psi doing a 12.9AFR on the dyno...

Hi guys it’s me who Claude posted for …. Well I figured if I had to go into the motor to fix a couple things then I might as well try to make more power. The main reason behind the cam change is money. I wanted to leave the cam I have know and upgrade the heads but the going price for heads does not fit my budget at this point. So i wanted to change the cam to make up for the stock heads and low boost (6lb) and of course the sound.
