Question Just picked up a set of Goodyear F1's...

I was looking at the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 but they didnt have them available..

They guy showed me the F1 GS (Without the "D3"...)
F1 GS = 300 Treadwear, A Traction, A Temperature, and ZR Speed Rating
F1 GS-D3 = 280 Treadwear, A Traction, A Temperature, and ZR Speed Rating

GS-D3 = $266
GS = $307

I figured I'd give them a try, since the treadwear rating is a littler higher, but I was wondering if anyone is using these and what experience have you had with them? I currently use BFG DRs so was wondering if they are going to hook well or not. I dont think they are going to hook as well but shoul be good for the street right? I am getting a built 12 Bolt and slicks soon so I could use them at the track and swap these on for daily driving, but I still want it to hook well..

BTW they are 275/40/17s going on '01-'02 SS rims on the Z28 in sig...

thanks guys

Looking at the Goodyear website, it appears they may have relabeled the "F1 GS-D3" as the "F1".

You just bought the sucky tires that came from the factory on 17" wheels.

Yeah, they're the OEM tires. I never had issues with them, I actually thought they were pretty good. But when it came time to replace them, they were just too expensive. I went with BFGs for half the price, and I think they are a much better tire.

i dont thik they are too bad for an all-season tire lol....no problems yet. Yeah the BFG were better as far as traction goes...but I didnt get very many miles out of the BFGs, ether...

If I had it to do over again...I would have just gotten a cheaper tire to run on a daily basis and got another pair of BFG DRs and two extra rims for the track...

We'll see after 25K miles if they still have any tread
