Exact cause of the T56 low RPM growl???

My T56 has the low RPM growl in any gear right around 1000 RPM. I can do it any gears so I dont think it is single gear related. I want to pinpoint the exact part causing this so it can be rebuilt.

I know this is a very common problem. Is it gears or bearings?

pilot bushing I'm guessing. mine was doing it, and when I changed my clutch my pilot bushing was all torn up. when I went to get a new pilot bearing, I though that the new one was the wrong size... no my old one was worn about 3/16 to big! no more growling for me now

I have replaced the bushind and the bearing and the noise remains. In this particular case there is no way its the pilot bearing/bushing.
