What're sliding pins?

I keep warping front rotors, no rotor regardless of brand has lasted me over a week without being completely ablitherated... I was told to check these before changing to higher quality rotors... What're these? The Brake Pistons or something else?

Whats a good rotor brand to switch to? I'm sick of replacing rotors...

There the shiney pins that hold your brake calipers. They have a rubber boot on one side, make sure there all greased up good so trhe calpier can slide on them. They let the caliper slide which is needed because the pistons are only on one side

Re: What're sliding pins?

Sliding pins(2 per caliper) are what allow the inner and outer pads to move towards each other to apply clamping(braking) force and away from each other to relax(eliminate) braking force. The pins have rubber boots at one end to seal out moisture/grit and seal in lubrication/grease.The boots are on the 'inside' side and part of the mounting bolts.
The sliding pins are not visible and can only be inspected upon total dis-assembly.

And also, I've seen rust build up on the caliper side of the rubber as well, pinching the caliper pins, even if the pin is well lubed. This makes the caliper 'bind' and so the pads area always riding on the rotor, causing excess heat and warping rotors.

Re: What're sliding pins?

Are these the same pins / bolts that connect your calipre to your brace?
