Re: What Is the Stock Wheel Offset For My 1997 Camaro?

Is your car a V6, a Z28 or an SS? Each of those was equipped with different wheels.

You can easilly run 9.5" wide wheels in the front and 11" wide wheels in the back with a bit of hammering. Generally people will run 17x9.5 in front with a 275/40-17 (or 18x9.5 275/35-18) tire. Offsets between 45-56mm will work. If you like the tires close to the outside of the fender, you can go with an offset as low as 35mm.

In the back, popular setup is a 17x11 wheel with a 45-50mm offset and a 315/35-17 tire (or an 18" variation on same). There's a fairly detailed writeup in the FAQ "stickied" at the top of the Wheels and Tires forum topic page that tells you what you need to do to make the 17x11's fit.

In your first link, I couldn't find the offset of the 17x9.5" wheels stated anywhere. You would have to ask the seller what it is to be sure they will fit correctly (not all eBay wheel listings are accurate when they say the wheels fit F-Bodys).

The second link is for 18x8.5" wheels, and I personally think if you are going to spend that kind of money on wheels, they should be wider than 8.5", particualrly in the back. Again, the seller does not indicate the offset, but is becomes a bit less critical on a narrower wheel. I still wouldn't buy them unless you can verify the actual offset.
