standard up keep

gonna buy a used 1993 camaro for 3,000 has 115,000 miles what should i be looking for and what should do first when i get it. besides oil, brakes and tune up

check/replace all fluids, belt(inspect), hoses(inspect)


other then that, it may or may not need an opti soon

The OptiSpark is the front-mounted ignition distributor on an LT1 engine. They either wear out, or get damaged when they get wet, even from a from drips off the weep holes of the water pump, which is directly above the distributor.

Some last close to 200K miles, others fail in a few thousand. One caution - do not under any circumstances attempt to wash down, pressure wash or steam clean the engine. That may cause almost instantaneous destruction of the Opti.
