stalling when tipping into the gas??

Ok guys here is my problem. I have had my pcm retuned ,then I put headers and an off road y-pipe on so I had to have the airpump turned off as well as the EGR. So I sent it in again to have those things done. After the second tune I can drive my car for about 30 min park it and wait 20 min. When I start going it runs fine .I will go about two blocks and it will start to fall on it's face. it's like it is flooding out or something. It only does this about 8 to 10 sec then it pulls out of it. It will be fine after that until I shut it off again then the same thing will happen. It seems funny that it will only do it one time and after that it is fine. Has anyone had this happen and what was the cause??

I had similar symptoms and it turned out that my positive battery cable that ran to the starter had come up against the longtubes and melted and the wire was arching off of the headers. It made the car run like total crap.

Re: stalling when tipping into the gas??

Ok I have some more info that may help. I have noticed that the first time I start the car after setting all night it doesn't do it. It is when it's hot and sets for a little while. After looking closer to the exhaust I noticed that it runs fairly close to the fuel lines under the car. Could this cause this problem??

Re: stalling when tipping into the gas??

Ok I have some new info: After installing the LT"S and Y-pipe my car get very hot under the hood. I can feel the fuel rail and it's very hot. Brake linds are hot, has anyone ever had this with headers? Could it be getting to hot under the hood and causing some kind of vapor lock? this is just goofy.. If I let the car sit for just a little bit it doesn't do it. But if I let it sit for 15 to 20 min, it will bog down for a little bit. Like it has to run the fuel for a while then it is ok.

Is your idle set too low? That fixed my surging problem.

I don't think so , it is at 585 to 600. and it will only do this crazy thing one time. Then after it cleans out it runs great.

Re: stalling when tipping into the gas??

I got quite a few mods done so my idle is set at 900. Before I had it tuned, anything below 700 would make it die.

Re: stalling when tipping into the gas??

It doesn't seem to be the idle. It is when i step on the gas just a little bit then it boggs down. Kinda weird but getting pissy about it. I have tried to catch it on auto tap software. But have not had luck with that yet..
