Is the Rack and Pinion from a '00 3.8L the same as a '95 Lt1 unit?

are they the same?
i'm looking to buy a nice newer low mileage, non-greasy one on Ebay, but not if they're different. I wouldn't think the unit would be different, there would be no reason for it. However, I have noticed that GM does/did a lot of things that you would think there was no reason for!!
