Lemme put it this way 225 is the stock width of the tires that come on V6 mustang wheels go with 275's that's what came stock on the Z06.

Dude, go 295s!! That's my only regret with my 18x9 wheels...max width is 275s. 225s aren't even doing justice to the Z06 wheels. My sorry *** stock tires when I bought my Z28...235/55R16 crappy Eagle GAs were wider than that.

I don't think anyone makes a "295" street tire in the 17" wheel size. There is a Kumho ECSTA V710 295/40-17, but that's a nearly treadless dry track road racing tire. And while a 295 might be OK for the rear wheels, its going to be sort of tight in the front.

As far as a 225/50-17, most manufacturers do not recommend putting those on anything wider than an 8.0" wheel.

Just ordered some Kumho ASX 275/40/17. I liked the way they looked and pretty decent ratings. Just have to wait for the tires to arrive on monday and get them mounted.
