A/C question

Recently Ive been having an issue with my A/C. If I run it everyday,or atleast when the cars first running it will always blow cold. But if I have it turned off for a day or part of the day while driving, it will blow warm.

An example is yesterday. The day before I drove it with the windows down. Then yesterday when I started her up in the morning it blew warm. I let it run for a few minutes, then turned it off and on repeatedly, still warm. During the day I drove it various times, and all day it would blow warm. I also noticed that when I turned on the A/C the A/C clutch would yank on(causing the car to lurch) and make a shrieking noise for a couple seconds as it tried to gain hold of the hub. The A/C compressor and clutch were replaced last August. Well this morning I start her up and the weather is whole lot cooler outside, well as soon as I turn the A/C on it cools down and starts blowing ice cubes.

I'm thinking its a faulty low pressure switch? any ideas?

Im pretty sure it has a good charge. The system was checked for leaks by a mechanic after I put the A/C compressor on last summer(that doesnt mean a whole lot though, especially a year later). When it works it almost instantly gets ice cold, which also led me away from that assumption. But I guess thats a starting point that should be checked anyways.

Thanks for the input

Re: A/C question

The clutch of the compressor might be going bad. It sounds like it tries to engage, and sometimes does, but other times it doesnt. Does it have a warranty from when you had it replaced.
