No too surprising death

I buddy of mine I grew up with traded in his 96LT4 Vette and bought a 03 Z06. During that time I was rebuilding my topend and throwing down some intimitation comments. A few weeks later after I got it up and running with the headers still open, he came over to check it out. I could see the fear in his eyes after it started. It was great.
So; fast forward a week and he calls my cell and ask if I got the exhaust on. I said yeah, and he said he was on my side of town an was ready to run. Anyway, we meet up and he is already laying down the excuses like he is preparing to lose. "Still on the paper filter, blah, blah, blah..." I didn't look under his hood but he is known to lie about such things. So we get on the open road and we hit it from about a 30 roll and he waxes my @ss so bad it's not even a race. Then from about 60 or so. He very slowly pulls me. Dammit to hell!!! So now I am like "Kill everybody and burn the Earth!" His car is a freaking monster and it's "stock". Great car.

I figure what is killing me the most is my stock TC. I cann't get the engine anywhere near it's peak torque before it engages and on the topend my injectors read 103% DC. He is dropping it at 6k and my TC starts engaging at 2500. On top of all that I was back on my stock 1.5 rockers to break the new springs in some. <---After the runs these were my lame excuses that I started with. He left with the biggest grin on his face. At least I made someones day.

What's even funnier is that my wife leaves for work the same time he left. Well, they see each other at the gas station and come to find out he waited until he had like 2 gals of gas to race me!! This is like him too so I am not surprised. He was that nervous I suppose. I just filled up to 15+ gals. That rat basterd. Like he needs weight savings over my vert. Open headers really seem to scare people.

Z06's are monsters. They have a huge weight advantage. Is this Z06 really bone stockk jw? How bad exactly did he beat you?

A roll in an A4 is not its strong suit.

Fix your issues, get a converter, and some nittos and wax him.

Even with your convert I dont see you hanging that well in the 1/4. The ZO6's trap 114-117mph stock, and the 03's are toward the highend of the mph. You should run well with dr's and a stall for the 1st 1/8th, but those cars trap 90-92mph stock in the 1/8th. ET wins though, so get to the end first!
