I'm looking to get a set of zr1 replicas which will be 9.5" width all the way around and I was wondering if they would fit no problem with no additional parts or pieces. and if they would jut out very much. I have a 97 z

Just be sure you get the "correct" 56mm offset for the ZR1 17x9.5 replicas. With a 275/40 tire, they will look just like the front wheels in this picture:

My Z06's are 9.5" wide on all 4 corners. No problems at all. Definitely be sure to listen to what Injuneer said to make sure the wheels fit right. 275/40s would be the best to run on the rims too. I went with 265s in front for cost reasons and I wish I had 275s on the front too to protect the lip of the rim.

will the 275/40's on a 17x9.5" rim give you a "straight up/down sidewall, or will it lean in like the rim is to big for the tire? I want to make sure it fits and looks correct!
Anyone know what I mean, how the tire bows out around the bead of the rim like it is to small?

I plan to run the 17x9.5 zr-1's so i just want to make sure!

A 9.5" wide rim has an overall width of slightly less than 10.5" (including the edge flanges). A 275 theoretical section width is 10.83", and the typical 275 will measure 10.8 - 11.0" wide, so its going to fit pretty "square" to the wheel. IMHO that is the best way, doesn't look like a skinny tire on a too wide rim, and doesn't look like a too wide tire on a narrow rim.

The right hand tire is a 275/40-17 Goodyear GS-C on a 17x9.5" wheel, and you can't see the rim.... it is sunk slightly into the edge of the tire, offering a little (but not a lot) protection from curb rash. The tire on the left is a 315/35-17 BFG drag radial on a 17x11 wheel.
