Exclamation HELP, Jet-Hot LT install underway

My buddy and I ripped out all the stock stuff on my Z28 today and were driven to madness in the process ... had to make a run to the hardware store because our ratchet busted trying to remove header flange bolts.

Anyway, we got the car up on two jackstands and ripped the stock stuff out. Tomorrow bright and early we plan on sliding in the Jet-Hot LT's ... We tried the driver side just a bit ago and it's close to goin in but catches on this small dense piece of plastic below the heads and above and towards the door relative to the oil/fuel filter (forget which, big white thing) .. Is my understanding correct in that the header bolts on the passenger side are a b!tch while sliding in the passenger side header is a easier than the driver's? Will removing the spark plugs on the driver's side make the slide-in easier (we already have all the plug wires off)? Some recomendations on how to slide these babies in there would be great.

Thanks,

Sean

hey guys
Im not sure if you guys are already done yet?
But I installed my hooker long tubes an I hear they're similar style to that of the Jet Hot LT's. I left in the plugs, I took out the oil filter and theres 2- 10mm bolts right above where the oil filter screws into that I also took out- its just a small metal piece, but it helps clear the headers. I also undid the stearing linkage arm. its one bolt but its a pain to get it apart but its a HUGE help. Oh an before you do that UNHOOK THE BATTERY TERMINALS! I here that if you don't and undo the steering linkage the air bags might deploy. and to get the car high enough of the ground i had to stack 2- 4X4's on top of the jack and jack it all the way up. If these dont work let me know. Ill tell you what me an my friend did when we installed his SLP LT's. which are a totally different story because of the way the tubes are bent. good luck.

Well we finished it, car runs great, all we need are some o2 extenders!

Also, the y-pipe on the driver's side seems to rub against the transmission mount, and we can feel that at certain rpms....Whats the best/easiest way to clear this up? THANKS!
