Speedo Recalibration
I just had new gears (3.73's) put in the back of my '93 TA. The speedo's off by about 15 Mph after the swap and from what I hear I need to burn a new chip to adjust it on the '93s. I've been looking at Pcmforless.com, am I at the right place? If it is the right place, I have a couple Q's about the order sheet:
1) I can't find a description of the "Power Programming" (Requires 92 or higher octane) anywhere...what's the scoop on this?
2) What's the stock throttle body size on a '93 TA
3) What're the stock injector sizes on a '93 TA?
Alrighty, I think that about sums it up... if anyone recommends a place over pcmforless please let me know, or if I'm missing anything that might be good to know.
Thanks alot (Sorry about the long post)
Nick

You might want to check around before you jump on the chip. I believe that you might be able to change a gear on the 93's, to change the sensor pulses... not absolutely sure, because 93 would be the only year that is possible. I've seen a few post on it, but I don't have a 93 so I am not positive.
Alternatively, there are electronic interface boxes that can be placed between the VSS sensor and the ECM.
Your TB is 48mm. The injectors are 22#/Hr.

my nephew put new gears in his 4A '93 and he needs a recalibration. for a 6M it may work with replace of the sensor gears. I have to disagree w/ fred on the injectors on '93. It's my understanding all '92 (vette) on up LT1's had 24#. L98's had 22#. My ol' '93 z flowed at equivilent 24# when done by.... too many years ago i can't remember...but, i can find out if you like. they advertise in alot of magazines.

If your '93 is an automatic, your speedometer is gear-driven and you can just change the gear in the tranny.
If your '93 is a six-speed, it has the electronically-driven speedo like all later years. If this is the case and you just want a fix for the speedo, check out SLP's unit for $180. If you think you'll later take advantage of aftermarket tuning, you may want to invest in such now (like pcmforless, Ed Wright's Fastchip, etc.)
Per published specs, GM rated all '93 LT1 injectors at 22lb/hr. Those who have actually flow-tested them, though, say they flow closer to 24.
