I'm on 128 and this guy in a green z like mine is next to me so he shows off and rips a patch...naturally I'm curious so I do the same---Anyways we get to a stretch where it is straight and pin it. He just blows by me like nothing---I couldn't even catch up!! So I get next to him and say what are you running? He tells me it's stock minus the gutted cat, hooker exhaust, and moroso cold air!! It does not sound like he has a stock camaro and he is the guy NOYZee was talking about in gloucester if you read the mustangchusetts post.. So now I am pissed at how crappy my car runs!! I don't believe for a second that a cold air intake and catback exhaust would make him walk over me... I need some real power any suggestions?? I'm working on headers and cold air but I think I need more I am a little disgusted in the LT1 as far as prices for parts....Not to make myself sound any more but I only shifted at 5000 and did not bury the throttle but he still should not have spanked me..

If you didn't even have it floored, how do you know how far off you are? If he really beat you down, then he probably has more work into it than he was admitting to.

broken in is not bad on a roller cam definitely get back to me hope fully I can grab those headers as well!!

 

Maybe he has a freak Z. Have you ever ran your car at the track. Also your car is basically stock. The throttle body won't do much on a stock motor. Flowmaster flows pretty crappy too or so I hear. CAI and better exaust will open things. LT1 are way to restricted out the factory. You'll definetely feel a SOTP difference with just a CAI.

 

Go to the track, see how far your really off. Could be time for a tuneup

 

Hey was that green car a convert?? I sucked up a green lt1 383 stroker last night in my old mans Z06, but the car was quick!!! Still beat him in a stock z06! It was a low 13 high 12 sec car, the Z06 went 12.7@ 113 on a 2.1 60' and this car wasnt to shabby!!
And if you see this guy again, bring him my way, My car is stock to!! Just a Ram Air kit. Verrrrrrry nice one thoe!!!

 

uh, next time you should try actually putting the pedal to the floor, and shifting just past peak hp.
