How do you guys know it's not a supplier issue?
If the supplier doesn't have it ready, it doesn't make it into the first cars.

This happens all the time in the industry. Why do you think you always see those footnotes that say: "late availability", or "interim availability", or "available 1st quarter".
Most of the time, those are supplier issues.

The delay of the HUD is not GM's idea, not a cost cutting move nor a strategy. There are only a couple of manufactuers of HUD units. Those manufactuers have to ramp up production. As a result when GM decided to include it in the Camaro there was going to be a lag. I assume had GM made the decision very early on there may not have been a delay but there are a whole lot of components that have to come together at once to pull a truly new car off. Since GM did not just rob from the parts bin this is one of the cases that will cause a delay.

kinda like how GM wanted the 6 speed automatic transmissions in every GMT90 on introduction, but suppliers weren't able to allow that.

Yeah, I'm the same as you guys, I just want my HUD. If they told me there will be no HUD from the start, then I would not be having this problem now! So I just have to wait....

Oh yeah does anyone know where does it say officially that the camaro have a HUD 12/09?

Unfortunately it has now been postponed until 6/10 or start of the 2011 model year.

Petition

Right, like a petition is going to make any difference. Its an option that you wont even notice after a few months. Deal with it.

December?!? WTF?

They've already delayed the damn car enough times as it is... now they are delaying the HUD another 9-10 months past the car's production date?

This is absolutely retarded... I know for a fact that I'd want an HUD but I wouldn't wait almost another YEAR to get it. I'd just shop for something else, outside "the company".

Good job, GM.

Wow... absolutely, wow... I didn't see this until after my previous post.

GM must be friggin' retarded or something. This, and all the other B.S. with the 2010 model car, is going to **** a lot of people off and will definitely cut into their sales numbers.

The people that are in the market NOW are just going to shop outside of GM... and the people that really want a Camaro will just hold off until the 2011 model year when all these idiotic "bugs" are worked out.

Yeah... It feeling like they just want to **** off people. I'm one of those people that will hold off until 2011. But I still have a little hope that they will put it after 6 - 10 months after the car comes out.

Don't be ridiculous. GM isn't at fault here most likely. The reason is probably one of two things:

The HUD system is being completely revamped -or-
It is a supplier problem with the manufacturer of the HUD unit.

GM wouldnt hold back something that could help sales or make them money. They would sell you a car than ran on pig **** if they thought people would buy it.
