The Corvette is lower to the ground and quite a bit narrower -- the sheer mass of a targa top for a Camaro would be 'unwieldy' at best.

Example: (and some of you witnessed this....) I had a Pre-production C6 at Atlanta Gathering a few years ago -- the roof panel was off.....a storm was brewing -- and I went to reinstall the roof panel. It was extremely hot from sitting in the sun -- and as I was talking to someone, the panel 'got away from me' -- a combination of weight -- the hot surface (burning!) and wind (which was getting quite gusty) -- and sure 'nuff -- the alignment post hit the edge of the windshield molding -- and we watched in horror as the windshield cracked the whole way across ---------

It wasn't one of my finer hours...........
Hmm the weights would he fairly high. I know this is a stretch and pretty much beating a dead horse but lets say the Targa could be done but it would require two ppl to take it off or a ceiling lift, similar to the Miata or Z3 hardtops. we would leave the HARD top at home and go cruising etc. While we are out if we decide we want to secure the car or cover it if it starts raining, a smaller collapsible rigid frame but fabric cover top could be pulled out of the trunk. This would be something that weighs alot less that the HARD top and would be used in those extreme situations. Another example would be the Jeep Wrangler that has a completely removable hardtop and that weights a hell of alot more than the camaro center section. The simple yet effective rolled up "rag" top is brought along for those "just incase" moments but is rarely used.

This would of course NOT be a factory option and I never ment it to sound like that. I know we will just be getting a hard top and vert from GM I was just wondering what the aftermarket could cook up.

And Scott im sure I can speak for the rest of us in saying we have ALL had hours just as fine as yours
