Thumbs up leaking water pump

Maybe someone has done this before, not for sure though. I was thinking the other day how to fix the dreaded waterpump leak. I found if you get a 3/16 tap in grease fitting and drill out the inside of it so you can see though it and tap it into the pump weep hole and get about 1 1/2 feet of heater hose and connect it to the grease fitting. It will go past the opti and wont get it wet next time it goes out. As for if the gasket goes out I don't think there is much you can do for that..... Anyone done this before??

It's been talked about many times. A couple of people have done similar things over the years.

Is there a really good explanation (photos, drawings, anything) for that somewhere? My waterpump destroyed my opti and im broke, i dont want this to happen again.
