Bottom end- where to buy...crankshaft options for 383 build

So i'm researching and comparing prices on eagle/scat vs callies.. i'm leaning towards biting the bullet on the callies. But anyways.. either way, where to get the crankshaft pistons and rods for my lt1. Looks like ls1 everywhere, but trouble finding them for lt1.
Should I go with a kit (if I can find one) or separate for the bottom end.

I have a psc1 procharger 14psi lbs of boost I plan on, and porting out my stock heads and portmatch the intake.

I heard callies not making compstar, but now dragonslayer crank.. maybe theyre comparable? anyway competitionproduct site showing a callies 4340 compstar crank for only $782.. this seems like a good price. I'm weary on ordering just from any site tho.

In many cases it is best for your machine shop to advise and purchase the parts you want. That way you can hold them accountable for any problems in the future. It's unwise to buy a bunch of parts and give them to your machine shop. Talk to them first about it and see what they say.

Avoid the cast Eagle and Scat cranks. Many instances of breakages with them and being out of balance/spec from the factory.

If you're going to replace the factory crank, go with a high-quality 4340 forged, USA-made piece.

This.

I've never had a Scat 4340 crank break for no good reason, I use them all the time in sub 850hp applications, above that I go Callies, Crower, or Bryant simply for added peace of mind.

Competition Products - Howards Tracksmart 4340 forged crank and 6" h-beam rods with Mahle forged flattop pistons, coated rod & main bearings $1895.00. That's what's in my new forced induction combo nd the Howards parts are made and machined in the USA if that stuff matters to you.

interesting, thanks for the howards tip.. I have definitely scratched eagle off my list, depending on my budget how things add up it'll be howards or callies. Anyone else experienced with howards stuff?
